Richard ‘Dick’ Roberds
Richard “Dick” Roberds, 81, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. He was born Oct. 14, 1933, to Clifford and Ignota Roberds in Warsaw.
Dick attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville, and graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1955. He was proud member of Phi Kappa Psi. He served his country from January 1956 to January 1958 on active duty, and was in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1960.
He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant First Class. After his service, Dick began his 44 year career in merchandising and held Senior Executive positions at both Dillard’s and Macy’s. In his spare time, Dick loved playing golf.
Richard is survived by his loving wife: Betty Roberds; daughters: Laura (partner Susan Elmer) Roberds; and Brenda (John) Morgan; grandchildren: Chris (Jana) Morgan; Brice (Lynn) Morgan; great-grandchildren: Caleb; Max; Wellsley Morgan; and sister: Jo Ellen (Jack) Mack.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, San Antonio, Texas. The memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at the chapel at Porter Loring North.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
