Big Brothers Big Sisters Needs Volunteers

WARSAW — School has just started and kids are in need of “lunch buddies.”
Those interested in becoming lunch buddies can be matched through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Being a ‘lunch buddy’ involves going to the student’s school once a week, having lunch with him or her and hanging out for 45 minutes to an hour.
Big Brothers Big Sisters offers two programs in Kosciusko County, including the site-based and community-based, to fit the needs of both mentor and child. Each program takes three to four hours a month and there is no cost to participate.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the nation’s leader in one-to-one mentoring. Its mission is to help children reach their full potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with measurable impact, based on Christian values. The organization’s passion is to help children achieve positive, measurable outcomes, including educational success, higher aspirations, improved self esteem, better relationships and avoidance of risky behaviors.
There are many kids in Kosciusko County waiting to be matched. For more information, to sign-up or learn about additional opportunities, contact Trina Hoy at (574) 551-6386 or email [email protected].
