Grace Speaker To Discuss Reliability Of Scripture
WINONA LAKE — Grace College, Winona Lake, will host Darrell Bock from 7-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in Westminster Hall on the Grace College campus.
Bock will give a presentation titled, “The Word of God is Living and Active: Lectures on the Reliability of Scripture.”
Bock is senior research professor of New Testament studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, Dallas, Texas, and executive director of cultural engagement for the Hendricks Center, also at Dallas Theological Seminary.
His fields of study include hermeneutics, the use of the Old Testament in the New Testament, the books of Luke-Acts, the historical Jesus, gospel studies and the integration of theology and culture. He is a graduate of the University of Texas, Dallas Theological Seminary and the University of Aberdeen.
From 7-7:45 p.m., he will speak on the reliability of scripture. He will address the issue of the reliability of the Bible as a document for faith and its trustworthiness as far as historical and literary evidence. Then, from 7:45-8 p.m., he will hold a question and answer session.
