Kids Market
WINONA LAKE — Since its first sale in fall, 2001, Kids Market has donated more than $202,000 to local organizations.
To continue the organization’s efforts by helping the women and children of Kosciusko County, Kids Market Inc., a nonprofit organization, will host its semi-annual sale from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Rodeheaver Auditorium on the campus of Grace College, Winona Lake, also known as the Winona Heritage Room.
During the Kids Market sale, consignors are able to sell their items and make a percentage of the sale without having a garage sale. Items that don’t sell have the option of being donated to many organizations within Kosciusko County that Kids Market has adopted.
Once the bills are paid and the organization has budgeted for the next sale, the money that is left over is given away. After the spring, 2015, sale, Kids Market Inc. donated $11,537 to the following nonprofit charities: Project Independence, Beaman Home, Heartline, Lakeland Youth Center, New Beginnings Preschool, North Webster Day Care, Baker Youth Club, Teen Parents Succeeding, Little Lambs Preschool, Joe’s Kids and YMCA.
Kids Market has many unforgettable moments throughout the sale weekend. Families that the organization has adopted get the chance to come and pick out clothing for free. Area organizations come to collect multiple boxes of donated items. The organization then meets with the local nonprofits to make the financial donations to their organizations.
