‘Maze Runner’ And The ‘Scorch Trials’

Do you hear that? The sounds of runners, with their panting breaths and sweaty palms. If you run fast enough maybe you can avoid the grievers. By barely making it to the maze doors before it begins to change.
“Maze Runner” is a puzzling tease of an action film, with little explanation as to what all the characters went through to get in the maze, as well as who put them there or as to why they are in a maze in the first place.
In the “Maze Runner” up until the end it is a boys only affair until Tessa comes along but even then, there is no annoying love story to drown all the action. By the end of the movie you find out that the maze was built by some “evil” scientist who mysteriously are all killed when it is discovered that they are sacrificing children and teenagers to be apart of their experiment.
To test the immune children to examine what else they can survive, it is the perfect example of social darwinism or survival of the fittest. In this case the ones who survive the maze are taken to be studied and tested in the “Scorch Trials.”
The “Scorch Trials” is basically the same type of action film, but personally, I feel as if the “Scorch Trials” has less little mess up, making it an overall extraordinary movie. In the “Scorch Trials” the Gladers have escaped the maze but are now trapped in the wicked laboratory to have their blood tested as it is being drained out of them, to save the world from the Scorch disease.
But at what costs are you willing to take to save the few who need the antidote, hundreds upon hundreds of children and teenagers lives are being sacrificed for a cause that has already taken over most of the world, leaving only several hundred people left to carry on the population of the world.
To survive as a group, they escape the Wicked’s laboratory and set out to find The Right Arm, a group thought to be a sanctuary for those Wicked is aiming to harm.
Along their journey to find the Right Arm, Thomas realizes that Tessa may not be who they all believe her to be. Once arrived at the Right Arm Thomas finds out more about his past and how he helped the Right Arm in saving several children and teenagers before having his memory taken and being sent into the maze.
After only being with the Right Arm for a short time Tessa decides to return to Wicked where she once lived and worked. But that does not come without its flaws. Once Tessa contacts Wicked to come get her the whole Right Arm is captured. Not shortly after Thomas ends up saving all but one of his friends. The one whom he promised to never let Wicked get him so Thomas must return to Wicked along with what is left of the Right Arm to save as many people as possible or die trying.
Overall both movies in the Maze Runner series have been hits, and I am looking forward to the next three.
