The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain Is Coming To Muncie
MUNCIE — The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is a group of all-singing, all-strumming Ukulele players performing at Emens Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7. A pre-concert “ukulele jam” will take place in Emens’ Williams Lounge from 5-7 p.m. Bring your own ukulele and jam with fellow ukulele enthusiasts!
Tickets are available now at the Emens Auditorium Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, charge-by-phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at Ticketmaster.com.
A concert by the Ukulele Orchestra is a funny, virtuosic, twanging, awesome, foot-stomping obituary of rock-n-roll and melodious light entertainment featuring only the “bonsai guitar” and a menagerie of voices in a collision of post-punk performance and toe-tapping oldies.
Audiences have a good time with the Ukulele Orchestra. Going from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana via Otis Redding and Spaghetti Western soundtracks, the Orchestra takes us on “a world tour with only hand luggage” and gives the listener “One Plucking Thing After Another”.
