WARSAW — A celebration lunch in honor of orthopedic patients who have successfully completed surgery and rehabilitation at the new KCH Orthopedic Center occurred on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Patients and guests enjoyed lunch and provided feedback about their experiences following hip or knee surgery. The KCH Orthopedic Center launched on July 13.
“Having experienced an orthopedic hospital in Fort Wayne several years ago, I was very happy to see KCH and our local orthopedic doctors create the KCH Orthopedic Center. I chose to stay home and go to KCH for my recent partial knee replacement. My experience was outstanding, convenient, efficient and patient focused with knowledgeable friendly staff. If I ever have to have my other knee or a hip replaced, I will definitely have KCH first on my list,” said Jim Maze, president of Ace Hardware of Warsaw.
“We have created a special program that brings together a team of experienced and skilled surgeons with caring and specially-trained nurses, therapists and technicians. Our goal is to provide seamless, coordinated care and get you back to your favorite activities as soon as possible,” said Kirk Ray, CEO at Kosciusko Community Hospital. “We celebrate with these patients following their stay at the KCH Orthopedic Center where we’ve implemented the latest proven medical techniques that can improve outcomes as well as quality of life. We’re excited to bring this innovative program to the area,” he said.
“We have made great strides with improving patient care by implementing practices spanning from pre-surgery to post surgical care. It is rewarding to help so many patients return to their daily lives after having positive patient experiences at the Center,” said Krista Harding, RN and Joint Care Coordinator.
An open house at the KCH Orthopedic Center is scheduled for 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3 . The community is invited to tour the facility, enjoy refreshments and learn about the Center’s best practice model for orthopedic care.
