WISE Incorporated Looking For Members
WARSAW — W.I.S.E. Incorporated is hoping to see new members in it’s program for the upcoming 2015-2016 year. W.I.S.E. Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to education and support of the professional career interest, especially with women.
W.I.S.E. stands for “We Inspire, Support and Empower,” and the goal of the company is to do just that: support and empower women in their lives. Michelle Reedy, vice president of mentoring for W.I.S.E., said that “we inspire, support and empower through educational and motivational events, and different activities.”
“Most of our events deal with women and the challenges they face in the workplace,” Reedy said. “We want to help anyone we can by offering educational opportunities.” While the program is more geared toward women, Reedy assured that “we do however, welcome any and all men.”
Much of the program can be divided into two separate sections. First, there are large group events, which focus on education and networking. Second, there is mentoring, which focuses on one-to-one growth in individuals. W.I.S.E. hopes to fully encompass growth, on an individual and community level.
With around 90 members, Reedy hopes and expects the number to go well above 100 by the end of 2015. “We would love to be able to reach anyone we can in the community, even college students, in an attempt to help them develop careers and opportunities,” Reedy continued.
W.I.S.E. incorporates the Strengthsfinder test, an online personality assessment, to match mentees up with mentors in the community in order to ensure the maximum amount of growth and bond. “We use Strengthsfinder as the basic foundation for our members, and decide how to help them based on the response we get from the test,” Reedy said.
Reedy said she is hoping mentees will be “wanting to develop strengths and overcome weaknesses. We want mentees who are looking to be professional, but aren’t sure what to do next.”
