The Syracuse Library is hosting a classical guitar concert by Scott Workman at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13. The library will close on that day for in-staff development, but open for this after-hours concert.
Monday begins a busy week for all ages. Story times continue with October’s activities of a book walk and an installment of, Critters: scary or sweet? at 10:30 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.
And at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, the Friends are meeting to form committees. Mary Hursh, Friends president, is looking forward to leading the group to a more active role in events at the library. Other Friends groups attract a variety of people of different ages and diverse backgrounds, so that joining the Friends of the Library group is a great way to meet new people.
Young adults are invited to two meetings this week. The YA Book Club is meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 to play Spoons, eat cake and talk about books. At 5 p.m. Thursday teens are painting and gluing decorations for the Enchanted Forest and the teen area.
Families are invited to drop-in at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 for the monthly Lego-Build with Austin. There are several complete building sets or blocks and boards to improvise a free form Lego creation. All events are free and open to any interested people. The Syracuse Library may be contacted at (574) 457-3022.
