Glow-N-Dark Run Shines
WINONA LAKE – The Kosciusko County FOP Lodge 149 celebrated its first-ever Glow-N-Dark 5K last weekend in Winona Lake.
The race, which took place Saturday evening, saw excellent weather and great people came together for a fun-filled night of exercise, friendship and brotherhood for a good cause.
Several awards were presented for various age groups, as well an overall award for top male and female runners of the entire race, according to FOP Vice President and organizer, Jim Smith. Proceeds from the race are used to provide funding for the annual Christmas with a Cop program to assist low-income children with clothing and a gift, while shopping with a local law enforcement officer.
Doug Hill was top runner in the male category, as well as overall, with a time of 20:18. Macey Hill was the top female runner, and fourth overall in all categories, with a time of 22:00. Ryan Langeland was second overall at 20:57 and Joel Popenfoose was third at 21:50.
The race had 127 competitors register a race time for the Glow-N-Dark race.
