Matthew D. Hunt
Matthew D. Hunt 64, Rochester, passed away at 8:27 p.m. Sunday Oct. 25, 2015, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
He was born on April 18, 1951, in Kokomo, the son of Vernon and Mary (Copeland) Hunt. On Oct. 17, 1970, in Kokomo, he married Kathy Koenig and she survives.
Mr. Hunt had owned and operated Roof One Roofing Company for many years. Prior to that he had been a disc jockey for radio stations, WWKI in Kokomo, WARU in Peru, WKSY in Fort Wayne, and a television personality on television station WFFT, Fort Wayne, hosting the “Night Shift”. In his spare time he enjoyed writing poetry, music, riding his motorcycles and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife: Kathy Hunt, Rochester; children: Darren (Kim) Hunt, Peru; Christopher (Devin) Hunt, Caramel; Alison (Bryan) Rouch, Denver; grandchildren: Tim McFarland, Rochester; Cora Biddinger, Peru; November Hunt, Delphi; Dawson Hunt, Delphi; Elijah Hunt, Caramel; Solomon Hunt, Carmel; and several nieces; nephews; cousins; and brother and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Kathy Elburn; and Karen Hunt.
Memorial services will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with Rev. Tom Robbins officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
