Michael “Mike” Kent Burris, Silver Lake, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, in Greenfield, at the age of 70.

Mike was a 1964 graduate of Northfield High School, Wabash. On Oct. 18, 1965, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1967.

He worked as a draftsman designer for 33 years at Zollner Corporation in Fort Wayne. Mike was a resident of Kosciusko County, for the past 43 years and a member of the American Legion Post 253 of North Webster.

Mike was born on March 15, 1945, in Tipton, to the late Vernon Leon Burris and Betty Ellen (Roe) Burris, who survives in Leesburg. On Dec. 31, 1966, he was married to Patricia Kay (Jontz) Burris, who passed away on October 2, 2005.

He is survived by his son: Adam (Julie) Burris, Greenfield; two daughters: Emily Hemmer, Silver Lake; Janel (Greg) Boer, Scotts, Mich.; eight grandchildren; his brother: Terry Leon Burris, Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his father and wife.

No visitation or services will be held. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
