Owen Recognized As Certified Crematory Operator
SYRACUSE — Richard Owen was recognized at the 2015 National Funeral Directors Convention in Indianapolis Thursday, Oct. 19, for becoming a certified crematory operator. He completed the course in Nashville, Tenn., last year and was recognized at this year’s convention for the accomplishment by National Funeral Directors Association President Robert C. Moore.
Owen and his wife, Kimberly, are the owners of Owen Family Funeral Homes, Syracuse and North Webster. In June, 2015, they opened Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 North SR 15, Warsaw.
Even though Owen has been in the funeral industry for more than 30 years, he felt it was important to take the extra step to become a certified crematory operator. All funeral homes handle cremations, although most must use a 3rd party crematory.
Cremation Services of Kosciusko County is the only crematory located in Kosciusko County. In addition to cremations they offer funerals, memorial services, burials, monuments, urns and an assortment of keepsake items. For more information, call (574) 267-8890.
