AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley Middle School Student Council is hosting a celebration in honor of Veterans Day, at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the school’s gymnasium.

Jean Hoover, a United States Marine Corps veteran will be the guest speaker. She is the mother of one of the TVMS teachers. Features of the program include musical selections by the band and choir students, a flag folding ceremony and a photo montage. In addition, attending veterans will be honored as their branch of service is recognized.

The event is open to the public and veterans from all branches of the military are encouraged to attend.

The students are looking forward to honoring all American heroes. Light refreshments will be served for veterans following the ceremony.

The student council members are asking any one who has a photo of a veteran to email it to [email protected], to be included in a photo slideshow. Individuals submitting photos are asked to include the veteran’s name, rank and branch of service. Photos are needed by Friday, Nov. 6.
