IPFW Symphonic Band Performing Free Concert At WCHS

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Daniel Tembras, Director of Instrumental Studies at IPFW.
The Wind Ensemble will perform works by Leonard Bernstein, Samuel Barber, Franz Josef Haydn and Gustav Mahler. In addition to the band, the program will feature performances by the IPFW Clarinet Trio, Saxophone Quartet, and Trombone Quartet. Dr. Samuel Savage, IPFW Coordinator of Studio Voice, will also perform a vocal solo with the ensemble.
The IPFW Symphonic Wind Ensemble consists of approximately forty student musicians performing on woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. Ensemble members include three recent graduates of Warsaw Community High School: Emily Sumner, Mason Sumner, and Nathan Sheetz.
