WARSAW — The weekend following Thanksgiving is rife with deal seeking men and women, young and old alike, on the prowl for a great deal. As Black Friday passed and many began to look toward Cyber Monday, Kosciusko families looking for a deal almost too good to be true needed only to look at a local car dealership. At 10 a.m. this morning, Sunday, Nov. 29, The Car Company, located at 3932 E. US Highway 30, Warsaw, gave out free Christmas trees.
According to General Manager Derrick Sainer, though this is his 13th year handing out trees at the dealership, the history of spreading holiday cheer to the community is a long one. The Car Company has handed out free, organic trees for 21 of the 26 years it has been open in the community.
“It is nice to be able to give back here in town to the people in the community,” stated Sainer. “We appreciate our customers who shop locally and want to give back to them.”
The Car Company staff lined up alongside the building to hand out pre-wrapped trees to anyone who decided to show up.
“We’ve been doing it for so long, and I love it every time,” said Jeremy Likens, a former Car Company employee. “We give out around 200 per store, and hope to continue doing this next year. Our Goshen store will be doing this as well.”
Though the event began at 10 a.m., cars started pulling in to wait in line around 7:30 a.m., and kept pulling through until every tree was gone.
