Hamilton Handles Cougars
HAMILTON – A big second-half effort carried Hamilton to a 59-28 win over Lakeland Christian Academy in prep girls basketball play Saturday night.
The game was tied 11-11 after the opening period and Hamilton led just 26-18 at halftime. The hosts then outscored the Cougars 33-10 in the second half to pull away to the convincing win.
Hannah Delp led LCA with 12 points in the loss, the third straight setback for the Cougars.
Rachel Sand chipped in with seven points for LCA. Melissa Goss had four points and seven rebounds and Brady Gross four points and five rebounds. Carissa Urschalitz had six rebounds for the Cougars.
Hamilton improves to 5-3 on the season, while LCA drops to 3-5.
LCA plays at South Bend Trinity on Dec. 12. Hamilton hosts Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian on Tuesday night.
