Bobby Ray Barnes, 65, Rochester, passed away at 5:57 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.

He was born on Oct. 26, 1950, in Crossville, Tenn., the son of Alex and Lou Cindy (Hedgecoth) Barnes. On Sept. 27, 1975, in Rochester, he married Twila Shambarger. She preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2006.

Mr. Barnes was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Army. He had worked for Talma Fastener for many years and for Safeway Steel. He had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed spending as much time with his grandchildren and fishing.

Survivors include his children: Glenn (Laura) Barnes, Knox; Nicole Beck, Rochester; grandchildren: Cody Dennis, Rochester; Riley Beck, Rochester; Grant Barnes, Knox; Bethany Barnes, Knox; Cheryl Barnes, Knox; sisters: Christine (Clay) Nealon, Crossville, Tenn.; Wilma Durham, Crossville, Tenn.; brothers: Leon (Patty) Barnes, Crossville, Tenn.; and Pal Gunner, Crossville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Marjorie Brown.
