Wind Advisory Issued
NORTHERN INDIANA — The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a wind advisory in effect from 10 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, Dec. 23, until 4 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24.
The advisory includes Kosciusko, Noble, Starke, Marshall, Fulton, Whitley and Wabash counties along with LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaGrange, Steuben, DeKalb, Pulaski, White, Miami, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Grant, Blackford, Jay and counties in Michigan and Ohio.
A period of southwest winds of 25 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour, with gusts to 40 mph to 45 mph late this evening into the overnight. Travel may become difficult for high profile vehicles.
A wind advisory means sustained winds of 30 mph or gusts over 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
