NORTH WEBSTER — Do you have unpaid fines for overdue library materials? Next week is your chance to redeem those fines and help out the North Webster Food Pantry at the same time. Jan. 11-16 is Food for Fines week for the North Webster Community Public Library.
For every non-perishable food item you donate for the food pantry, $1 will be taken off of your fine. After the holidays, local food pantries are often depleted, so Food for Fines week is a great way to pay off your fine while helping others in need. Be sure to check the expiration dates on food items, because outdated items cannot be accepted. Neither can dented cans or damaged packages. The Food for Fines policy applies only for North Webster
Library card holders for materials borrowed from the North Webster Library and does not count towards lost, damaged, or un-returned items.
After the hectic holiday season, kick back and relax at Craft and Chat at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13. Bring your craft project to the library to work on and enjoy visiting with other crafters during this informal time of chatting and crafting.
Lapsit continues at 11 a.m. Wednesday and Friday for parents and their babies ages birth to 24 months. The 20 minute sessions involve board books and simple stories, songs, and fun with scarves, shakers, and bells followed by 10 minutes of unstructured play. Parents also learn about early literacy development and resources available. Registration is required to participate, so contact the Youth Services Desk to sign up or call (574) 834-7122 ext. 202 to sign up.
There are still openings available for the Coffee, Cookies and Canvas workshop at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9. For $18, you will learn how to paint a lovely winter scene while enjoying coffee, cookies, and fun. The fee includes an 11-inch by 14-inch canvas, all your painting supplies, and refreshments. Advance registration and payment is required, so hurry and sign up at the Circulation Desk and don’t miss out on the fun.
