Bone City Rollers Active Over Holiday
WARSAW – The bout season has been over for weeks, but the Bone City Rollers were in high gear over the holiday.
The Warsaw-based roller derby team took part in “Christmas With The Bone City Rollers”, delivering packages to a set of special recipients. The team raised and spent over $800 on nine special kids, sibling and parents as part of the event, allowing those families to celebrate Christmas week with the derby team. The families were chosen from a pool of nominees that experienced medical hardship in 2015.
In all throughout 2015, Bone City volunteered 589 hours and donated over $4,600 to the Kosciusko County communities. The team was able to double its service hours and donations from 2014, which all went back into the community the team serves.
The first aim for Bone City in 2016 is to raise over $650 for Special Olympics as part of the 2016 Polar Plunge.
