Former Syracuse Man Arrested On Drug Charges
According to court documents, filed on July 29, 2015, Indiana State Police Lt. Chad Larsh observed a vehicle speeding on Old US 30, in the area of CR 450E. A traffic stop was initiated and found the driver was Mellisa Guerrero. Prior to the traffic stop, Guerrero had been blocked from purchasing pseudoephedrine at Walgreens. There were two other occupants in the vehicle, including Brickey.
When Larsh asked Guerrero to come to his patrol vehicle, he observed a plastic sandwich bag. She was questioned about the bag and she removed a bubble wrap containing a glass smoking device with burnt residue. Police searched the vehicle and found a red earbuds case containing several plastic bags with a white powdery substance, four coffee filters, cut portion of a straw and one knotted plastic bag corner containing a moist white substance. The powdery substance was tested and found to be meth.
Guerrero advised the trio were going to smoke the meth. One of the individuals provided the meth. She was taken to the county jail where a plastic cellophane containing marijuana was found.
She told police she picked up the other male and Brickey at a business in Warsaw, and Brickey gave the other male a red pouch. The other male had put the pouch next to her seat, as she had never been arrested for drugs.
Brickey is being held in the county jail on $5,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
