Yeo, Coon Key Bethel Victory
SPRING ARBPR, MI -A pair of former area high school standouts helped the Bethel College men’s basketball team to a conference win Saturday.
The duo of Clay Yeo and Jordyn Coon each had strong games as the No. 13 Pilots defeated host Spring Arbor 71-55 in a Crossroads League contest.
Yeo, who starred at Triton High School, had 16 points and four rebounds in the win.
Coon, who played at Warsaw, netted 12 points on perfect 4-4 shooting from the field. He also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds for the Pilots.
Bethel, which improves to 15-4 overall and 5-3 in league play, led 39-27 at halftime.
Luke Fisher scored a career-high 24 points to lead the way for the Pilots. Caleb Oetjen dished out nine assists for coach Mike Lightfoot’s team.
Spring Arbor drops to 6-14 overall and goes to 0-8 in conference action.
Bethel will host No. 5 St. Francis Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in a key conference game in Mishawaka. St. Francis is 17-3 overall and 7-1 in league play.
