Gordon L. Ireland, 62, North Manchester, died at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 30, 1953, in Wabash, to Marion Ireland Jr. and Ester (Shewman) Ireland. Gordon graduated from Manchester High School in 1971. He was a United States Army Veteran. After the Army, Gordon was employed at Controls in North Manchester, Hartzler Trucking, Akron, and Pierceton Trucking, Laketon. He was also a bartender at the East End in North Manchester, for several years and a member of the American Legion Post # 402, Laketon.

Gordon is survived by his son: Chris (Angie) Hubartt, North Manchester; his daughter: Tina (Josh) McCoin, Huntington; one brother: Marion Ireland III, Wabash; four sisters: Ruth De Turk, North Manchester; Mary Dryden, Servia; Melinda Johnson, Fort Myers, Fla.; and Maria Ireland, New Haven; four grandchildren: Anthony Hubartt; Taylor Cook; Emmah McCoin; and Journey McCoin. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: David Ireland; and one sister: Margaret Cartwright.

Friends and family may call from Noon until 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be at Laketon Cemetery, Laketon, at a later date.
