Valley Girls Pummel Peru
PERU – There was no letdown Tuesday night for the Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team.
The Vikings, coming off their biggest win of the season at Rochester on Saturday night, used a huge second half to crush Peru 69-30 in a Three Rivers Conference contest.
Valley, ranked No. 5 in Class 3-A, outscored the hosts 37-6 in the second half to remain undefeated in TRC action.
Valley improves to 17-1 overall and 7-0 in league action with its 12th straight win. Peru, which has lost 10 in a row, falls to 2-16 overall and 1-6 in the TRC.
Valley led just 18-10 after the opening period fop play and 32-24 at halftime before routing Peru.
Anne Secrest led a balanced offensive attack with 17 points for Valley. The junior star also added six rebounds in the win.
Addy Miller scored 12 points and Hannah Dunn and Brynda Krueger each had 10 for the Vikings. Meredith Brouyette added six points and Asia O’Conner scored five. Krueger and Sophie Bussard each had six rebounds and Dunn added five.
Valley plays at NorthWood Thursday night in a rescheduled game. The Vikings then host TRC foe Southwood Saturday night and entertain Wawasee Tuesday night. Peru hosts Pioneer Thursday night.
