Homestead Impressive In Gym Win
FORT WAYNE – Homestead posted an impressive 102.95-89.35 gymnastics win Tuesday night over visiting Warsaw.
Catherine Milne led the Spartans in three of the four events, scoring an 8.4 on vault, 9.1 on bars, 8.65 on beam to take honors on all three, and was second with a 9.35 on floor.
Olivia Cronenwett tied Milne with an 8.4 on vault and had the top floor score at 9.45. Yana Weir added second-place scores of 8.45 on bars and 8.6 on beam to help support the Homestead scoring.
All three of the Homestead gymnasts would lead the all-around scoring, fronted by Milne’s 35.5, and followed by Weir’s 34.1 and Cronenwett’s 33.3.
Warsaw had four active gymnasts at Homestead. Remi Beckham would total a 31.15 all-around score on the strength of a fourth-place 7.45 on bars. Beckham also posted 8.0 on vault, 8.15 on floor and 7.55 on beam. Hayley Campbell scored an 8.5 on floor, Anna Wainscott was third on beam at 7.7 and Nadiya Burritt’s top score was 6.9 on vault.
Warsaw (0-2) will next compete Saturday in a triangle at Plymouth with East Noble.
