BBB Warns Of Scam Aimed At Businesses
FORT WAYNE — The Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana warns local businesses to beware a scam from a Texas-based company calling itself Universal Adcom.
Other names call representatives have used include Premier Impressions, Hometown Productions, Premier Map, D&L Map Service, Fanfare Sport Marketing and Scoreboard Productions. Besides Arlington, Texas, these business names have also come up under phone numbers from Peoria, Ill.
According to the BBB website, these companies call offering promotional products like maps, directories, magnets and T-shirts. Often, callers will claim to be working on behalf of local schools, organizations etc. According to complaints, companies who ordered products through Universal Adcom reported harassing, disruptive or deceiving sales calls; non-receipt of products or poor-quality products received; and refusal of the caller to remove the business from the calling list.
The BBB encourages anyone who has had a bad experience with this company to call (260) 423-4433 or file a complaint here.
