Triton Moves Into Tourney Title Game
LAKEVILLE – The Triton boys basketball team will play for the Bi-County Tournament championship come Saturday night.
The Trojans moved into the final of the TCU Bi-County tourney with a 58-40 semifinal win over John Glenn Friday night at LaVille High School.
Triton will face host LaVille in the title game at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday. LaVille defeated Oregon-Davis by a 51-41 count in the other semifinal game Friday night.
The Trojans started strong against the Falcons. Triton led 15-8 after the opening period and 25-12 at halftime en route to the convincing win.
Jordan Anderson had a big night for Triton as the senior guard scored 20 points. He was 4-6 from 3-point range in the win.
Grant Johnson scored 13 points and had five rebounds for Triton. Masen Yeo added 10 points and Jarrett Kreft eight for the winners.
Alex Runyon scored 20 points and Matt Strong 13 to lead Glenn.
Triton shot 18-32 overall from the field, including 5-10 on 3-pointers. The Trojans were 17-19 from the free throw line and had just seven turnovers.
Glenn went 15-36 from the field, including only 5-19 from distance. The Falcons were 5-8 from the line and had 14 turnovers.
Triton, which has won four of its last five games, improves to 9-5. Glenn drops to 8-7. LaVille improves to 9-5 with its win over the Bobcats Friday night.
