Upcoming Informational Meeting On Autism
WINONA LAKE — Lakes Area Autism Network and Bowen Center will present “Training and Education Across the Autism Spectrum” for parents, professionals and the community on March 10. The event will be held at Winona Lake Grace Brethren in The Hub. There is a cost.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. with registration and opening of expo booths, followed by Dr. Cathy Pratt, Indiana Resource Center For Autism, presenting the keynote address “Recommendations For Social and Communication Programming.”
The afternoon will allow attendees to choose two of the three sessions to attend. The sessions will be on Guardianship process by Dena Leon, lawyer; Behavior related to ASD by Pratt and weighted sensory products by Mama Pacheco, founder of CapeAble. Sessions will be from 12:30-1:20 p.m. and 1:30-2:20 p.m. followed by a parent panel from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The expo booths will close at 4 p.m.
A break for lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each attendee will be responsible for his/her own lunch.
