Ivy Tech To Celebrate Days Of Service Project
INDIANAPOLIS — Ivy Tech Community College will celebrate its fifth annual Ivy Tech Days of Service, now through Feb. 20, at all campuses statewide, in conjunction with National Random Acts of Kindness Week.
Service projects will occur across the state and involve more than 1,000 Ivy Tech faculty, staff and students. Each campus will partner with a not-for-profit or service organization in their community to provide hands-on projects for students, faculty and staff to complete together.
The learning outcomes for students include an increased understanding of the needs of others, community awareness, self-awareness, cultural awareness and a feeling of connection to Ivy Tech.
“We are pleased to be in our fifth year of service and are excited to continue this wonderful opportunity for students, faculty and staff to come together to serve others, support community organizations and to learn more about the resources available in their local communities,” said Dr. Carey Treager Huber, assistant vice president for student and career development, Ivy Tech.
The Warsaw campus will host a donation drive by collecting items for the Animal Welfare League, Warsaw, to help them continue to fulfill their goals of connecting animals to loving families.
The following times are when the campus will be accepting donations:
- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, and Friday, Feb. 19
- 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18
