Emory Daylin Watrous
Emory Daylin Watrous, 73 of 17th Road, Argos, died at 5:22 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at the Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
Emory had been in declining health for the past several months.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1942, in Union City, Penn., to James Daylin Watrous and Mary Alice (Barker) Watrous. He has lived in Argos, the past five years coming from Ocala, Fla., for 30 years.
On Sept. 23, 2012, in Argos, he married Shirley A. (Vanata) Thayer.
He was a truck driver hauling livestock, having worked for Metzger Trucking in Silver Lake. He was a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 852 Aerie, Rochester. Emory attended Rochester High School.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley A. Watrous of Argos; daughter: Vicki Mudra and husband Mike of Crystal Lake, Ill.; grandchildren: Jessica Woods and husband Cory; and Jeffery Mudra; sisters: Carol Shrader and husband Ronald of Rochester; and Ka Harris and husband Karl of Andrews; stepchildren: Todd Thayer and wife Tawnya of Argos; Tracy Thayer and wife Marilyn of Argos; and Janelle Thayer of Indianapolis; stepgrandchildren: Michael Thayer and wife Ashley; Tucker Thayer and wife Alyssa; and Brooke Thayer and stepgreat-grandchild: Kyndra Thayer.
Emory is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 24, at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
