LaGrange Sailor Awarded Junior Sailor Of The Year
PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, HAWAII — On Feb. 3, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Hawaii Executive Officer Cmdr. Scott Cloyd presented Steelworker 2nd Class William H. Baird, of LaGrange, with the 2015 command plaque for Junior Sailor of the Year in the command’s Seabee Division headquarters building, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
Selection was made based on his dedicated leadership and steadfast enthusiasm which maximized the operational effectiveness of his shop while completing 10 critical work orders valued at $116,000 in support of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Navy Region Hawaii, and multiple tenant commands.
As vital component of the military integration into the NAVFAC Hawaii shops, Baird’s technical expertise was the decisive factor in the completion of 32 critical work orders.
His hard work, professionalism and loyal devotion to duty reflected credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
