WARSAW — A South Bend man involved in a 2012 robbery at a residence in Warsaw has been booked in the Kosciusko County Jail.

Jeremy Raymon Lacy, 28, 1134 Milton St., South Bend, is being held in the county jail on no bond. He is being charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, a class B felony; battery by means of a deadly weapon, a class C felony; and theft, a class D felony.

Lacy was transported to the county jail from the Miami Correctional Level 3 Facility, where he is serving an eight-year sentence for robbery and robbery armed or causing bodily injury out of St. Joseph County. He was sentenced on Dec. 14, 2012, on that charge in addition to another charge of robbery — armed or causing bodily injury. That charge carried a 10-year sentence. According to the IDOC offender data, his projected release date on the robbery charge is December 2019. That data also shows he was released Jan. 25, on the other robbery — armed or causing bodily injury charge.

Local court documents show on May 19, 2012, Warsaw Police responded to a robbery at a residence. When officers arrive a male victim was found bleeding from the head. The victim stated a male knocked on the door and asked for a drink of water, as he had just finished playing basketball. The victim let the individual inside his residence and rolled him a cigarette.

Lacy allegedly pulled a handgun from his back pack and pointed it at the victim’s head, telling him to get on his knees. Lacy then struck the man in the head with the handgun and began punching and choking him. The victim was forced to give Lacy the combination to the gun safe in the residence. Two Smith & Wesson revolvers, a Ruger revolver and $2,000 in silver and gold coins were taken.

Police spoke to a witness who reported seeing Lacy speaking to two other males in a green vehicle before going into the residence.

The remains of the rolled cigarette the intruder had smoked was turned over to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for testing. On March 11, 2013, DNA evidence had been obtained, matching that of Lacy, a convicted individual. DNA samples from Lacy were obtained on July 24, 2013, for comparison. Confirmation on the DNA was received on Aug. 20, 2013.
