Tourism Efforts Land Funding

SOUTH BEND — Visit South Bend Mishawaka has awarded more than $100,000 in grants to fund tourism and marketing efforts. The money will support 25 programs and events aimed at bringing visitors and tourism dollars to St. Joseph County.
The organization says it received more than 30 applications for the funding program, now in its sixth year. The effort is funded through allocations from the St. Joseph County Hotel-Motel Tax Boards, and has awarded $570,000 in total.
The 2016 recipients are:

- Studebaker Drivers Club
- International Association of Water Rescue Professionals
- Pastime Tournaments
- Art Beat
- Irish Aquatics
- St. Joseph County 4H Fair
- Elite Baseball World Series
- St. Paddy’s Day Tent Party & Pub Tour
- Indiana Invaders Soccer
- Irish Classic Gymnastics Meet
- Zoo Brew
- Dressing Downtown
- Sugar Camp Days
- Bike Michiana for Hospice
- Michiana Renaissance Festival
- Midwest Wrestling
- South Bend Museum of Art
- Great Lakes Cat Enthusiasts
- St. Joseph Valley Table Tennis
Tom Curtis with the Studebaker Drivers Club said the grants have enabled the group to double attendance to its events, saying “Studebaker fans from 27 states visited South Bend last May.”
