Whitko Upends North Miami
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko took care of the football Friday night and in the process took care of North Miami.
The Wildcats had no turnovers in handing the Warriors their first conference loss of the season by a 13-10 count.
Connor Stouder scored the game winner for the Wildcats in the Three Rivers Conference contest. Stouder tallied a seven-yard touchdown run with 6:47 left in the game to give Whitko the win. The score capped a 71-yard, 15-play drive.
North Miami, which saw its four-game win streak snapped, out gained Whitko 238-161 in total yards.
Tanner Hughes scored on a two-yard run in the second quarter for Whitko. The Wildcats led 6-3 at halftime before falling behind 10-6 in the third quarter. Hughes led Whitko with 86 yards rushing on 18 carries.
North Miami quarterback Austin Barker was just 6-19 passing for 91 yards with an interception. He rushed for 78 yards on 11 carries. The Warriors fall to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the TRC.
Whitko, now 3-4 overall and 3-2 in the TRC, plays at Rochester next Friday night.
