Robinson, Day To Officiate State Finals
The IHSAA has tabbed a pair of highly-respected area boys basketball officials, Kirk Robinson and Ron Day, to work the State Finals this coming Saturday in Indianapolis.
Robinson, a 1977 Tippecanoe Valley High School graduate, will officiate the Class 3-A state championship game. Robinson will be officiating his 15th overall State Finals event, including seven in volleyball, five in girls basketball and three in boys basketball.
Robinson officiated the Class 1-A girls basketball state title game on Feb. 27 between Argos and Jac-Cen-Del.
Day, who is a Plymouth High School graduate, will work the Class 2-A state title game Saturday between Indianapolis Howe and Lapel. It will be the eighth State Finals game for Day, including four in boys basketball and four in girls basketball.
Both Robinson and Day are active members of the Northern Indiana Officials Association. Robinson is currently the Secretary/Treasurer for the association.
The State Finals, which will feature four state championship games, are set for Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
