Mary L. Potts
Mary L. Potts, 74, of Pierceton, passed away at 12:45 a.m. April 5, 2016, in her residence.
On June 21, 1941, she was born in Michigan City, to Ross and Hilda (Wanstrath) Gosnell. Raised in Michigan City, Mary lived in Warsaw from 1965- 1988. She then moved to Chardon, Ohio in 1996 and then she returned to the Silver Lake area.
Mary was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Michigan City, Class of 1959. She had worked for Bowen Center for three years in data entry, was an account representative for Superior Auto and then worked for Barbee Hotel Bar and Grill. She was a member of Altrusa and Victory Rock Church, Pierceton and she enjoyed knitting and reading.
She is survived by two daughters: Christine (spouse Michael) Coon, Warsaw; and Pamela S. Himes, Pierceton; her son: James David (spouse Krisha) Potts, Syracuse; two brothers: George (spouse Marge) Gosnell, Michigan City; and Rev. David Gosnell, Westville; one sister: Betty Ahlers, Hamilton, Ohio; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Ross Gosnell, Thomas Gosnell, Jerry Gosnell and John Gosnell; four sisters: Rose, Clare, Lois Ann Gosnell and Ellen Kermin; and one granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, April 8, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor William Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Visiation hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, April 8, at the funeral chapel.
