NORTH WEBSTER — Is writer’s block stifling your creativity? Special speaker Michelle Weidenbanner will help you get the creative juices flowing with her presentation “When You Find Your Passion, You Will Find Your Words” at 10 a.m. Monday, April 18. An award-winning adult and children’s author, Weidenbenner encourages writers to develop their writing skills by finding their passions. The public is invited to join with Writer’s Corner to hear her inspiring message and practical advice on becoming an accomplished writer.
R.E.A.D. Book Club will meet to discuss best-selling author Jeffrey Archer‘s book “A Matter of Honor” at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 18. Next month, the club will read and discuss “Once Upon a Town” by award-winning journalist Bob Greene. It’s a poignant and heartwarming eyewitness history that tells a classic American story during World War II of a grateful country honoring its brave young men as they pass through a small Nebraska town on troop trains heading for war. Stop by the library to pick up a copy of the book and join us for discussion May 16.
If you’re looking for some soothing relaxation, join us for Adult Coloring at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19. It’s a great way to unwind while providing a creative and social outlet. The library provides coloring sheets and supplies along with easy listening background music.
There are still openings available for the library’s Coffee and Canvas workshop at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23, but you must hurry to sign up and pay the $18 fee before Saturday. The fee includes 11 by 14 inch canvas, painting supplies, refreshments, and instruction by artist Karla Hayden.
The Youth Services Department will host the North Webster Youth League T-ball sign up from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, April 23. While the rest of the library will remain closed until 10 a.m., the Youth Department will open at 9 a.m. Registrants can enter through the south doors inside the Community Center to sign up for T-ball and also get a sneak preview of the library’s Ready, Set, Read summer reading program that begins June 1.
