Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:29 p.m. Sunday, April 10, US 30 north of North CR 800W, Atwood. Drivers: Clark L. Stump, 59, West CR 1400N, Nappanee, and James Hartman, 55, West SR 205, Columbia City. Stump pulled his vehicle in front of Hartman’s vehicle and it came to a stop. Hartman’s vehicle collided with Stump’s vehicle. Stump was taken to Elkhart Community Hospital with complaints of chest pain. A passenger in Stump’s vehicle, Ronda S. Stump, 55, East Woodview Drive, Nappanee, was taken to Elkhart Community Hospital with complaints of pain to the abdomen. Another passenger in Stump’s vehicle, Mark A. Stump, 61, East Woodview Drive, Nappanee, complained of elbow/lower arm pain but refused medical treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
3:25 p.m. Sunday, April 10, North SR 13 south of East CR 300N, Pierceton. Drivers: Wesley A. Moore, 30, Inwood Circle, Syracuse, and Kirstin N. Klinger, 35, East Washington Street, North Webster. Moore attempted to retrieve an object that had fallen and his vehicle sideswiped Klinger’s. Damage up to $10,000.
7:20 a.m. Saturday, April 9, North Lake Street and Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Drier: Jozie E. Mikel, 16, Oakwood Drive, Warsaw. Mikel lost control of her vehicle and it spun onto the curve of the roundabout, striking a road sign. Damage up to $2,500.
6:16 a.m. Saturday, April 9, North Old Road 15 and East Armstrong Road, Warsaw. Driver: Deborah A. Wright, 54, EMS B37 Lane, Warsaw. Wright lost control of her vehicle and it hit the railroad tracks. Wright drove her vehicle off of the tracks. Authorities contacted Norfolk Southern about the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
1:32 a.m. Saturday, April 9, US 30 east of East Van Ness Road, Warsaw. Driver: Domenic J. Messina, 56, Olde Mill Road, Plainfield, Ill. Messina’s semi-trailer jackknifed on an icy patch and went into the median. Damage up to $2,500.
12:10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, East US 30 east of East Van Ness Road, Warsaw. Driver: Natalie M. Jackson, 49, Delray Drive, Fort Wayne. Jackson lost control of her vehicle and it went into a ditch. Damage up to $1,000.
10:58 a.m. Friday, April 8, West US 30 east of North SR 19, Etna Green. Drivers: Robert A. Pedersen, 53, 570th Avenue, Beardsley, Minn., and Renee S. McAfee, 54, Seventh Road, Plymouth. Pederson’s vehicle merged into traffic behind McAfee’s vehicle and rear-ended it. Damage up to $2,500.
