Hazen Tabbed To Indiana All-Star Team
INDIANAPOLIS – Columbia City star Brachen Hazen was one of 13 players tabbed Tuesday for the 2016 IndyStar Indiana Boys Basketball All-Star Team.
Hazen, a 6-7 forward for the Eagles, averaged 16.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game during his senior season. Hazen, who is undecided on his college choice, led City to a 20-7 mark and the championship of its own Class 3-A sectional.
The team is headlined by the trio 6-10 center Joey Brunk of Southport, 6-3 guard Kyle Guy of Lawrence Central and 6-0 guard C.J. Walker of Indianapolis Tech. Brunk will play at Butler, Guy at Virginia and Walker at Florida State. The trio are the finalists for Mr. Basketball, which will be announced on April 28.
The All-Star team will play exhibition games on June 7 and 9 versus the Junior All-Stars at sites to be determined. Warsaw’s Kyle Mangas is a member of the North Group for the Junior All-Star team.
The All-Stars are slated to play Kentucky in the annual series on June 11 in Indianapolis and June 12 in Louisville.
NorthWood coach Aaron Wolfe is one of two assistant coaches for the All-Star team.
