Shultz Flees Police After Traffic Stop, Arrested
TIPPECANOE — William Garrett Shultz, 24, Etna Green, was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Monday, April 18, following a pursuit into Fulton County.
Shultz was arrested for possession of marijuana, under 30 grams; resisting law enforcement by means of a vehicle; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He is being held on a $1,505 bond.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy Les McFarland went to stop a blue Ford Focus at approximately 8:05 p.m. in the area of 18B Road and SR 331 for expired plates. The driver, later identified as Shultz, refused to stop the vehicle. The pursuit went from Tippecanoe to Rochester, through Rochester to US 31 and Wabash Avenue. At the intersection of US 31 and Wabash Avenue, Shultz’s vehicle wrecked. He then fled on foot.
With the assistance of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Rochester Police Department along with the Indiana State Police, Shultz was taken into custody. Police located a substance believed to be marijuana in the vehicle.
