Tennis Girls Down Northrop
The Whitko girls tennis team enjoyed a 4-1 victory over Fort Wayne Northrop Tuesday evening.
Morgan Keirn (No. 1 singles), Delaney Keirn (No. 2) and Jackie Werstler (No. 3) all picked up wins on singles courts. Jenna VanCuren and Natalie Iholtz got the win for Whitko at No. 1 doubles.
Whitko (3-4) will host Wabash this Thursday.
Softball Team Continues To Roll
The Whitko softball sluggers were back at it Tuesday night and picked up another win to move to 8-2 on the season.
Whitko was led by two triples and a single from Riley Insley. Emalee Duggins and Tori Silveus each had a single while Ellie Snep recorded a double. The Wildcats had 14 hits as a team.
Whitko plays at Southwood Wednesday night.
Boys Track Earns A Quad Sweep
The Whitko boys track team stayed hot on the season with a sweep of a quad meet Tuesday night.
The Wildcats (99.5) downed Manchester (82.5), Northfield (61) and Lakeland Christian (0) to move to 6-0 on the season.
Whitko took first in six events starting with long jump. Garrett Elder won the event with a 20-4.5. Gavin Howard was first with a throw of 48-7.5 in shot. Conner Sherwin threw 139-8 to take first in discus.
Alex Morales won the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.9. Brady Weeks was first in the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.7.
Whitko’s 400 relay team took first with a time of 44.4 seconds.
