Culp Earns 300th Win Friday Evening
GOSHEN – History was made Friday evening at Shanklin Park. Longtime area softball coach Brent Kulp picked up his 300th softball head coaching win when Goshen defeated Warsaw 6-4.
Culp coached with Jimtown for 15 years, racking up a fine mark of 285-133-1, a .680 win percentage, helping lead the Jimmies to five sectional and two regional titles along the way. Culp’s Jimtown teams were often highly regarded among the state, garnering No. 1 rankings in class 2-A on multiple occasions.
Culp took over the Goshen job two seasons ago and picked up his 15th win Friday in 47 overall contests for the program. Culp’s overall record now sits at 300-165-1.
Goshen got the win Friday night by rallying from a 3-1 deficit to score three runs in the fourth and padded two more insurance runs late to seal the milestone victory.
