Hoopfest Enjoys Big Weekend
WINONA LAKE – CASA of Kosciusko County held its second-annual 3-on-3 Hoopfest Tournament at the Gordon Rec Center located on the Grace College campus this past weekend.
This year, CASA added more divisions and incorporated pool play prior to the tournament so teams were guaranteed more game play. The morning tournament included a three-point shoot-out, which Jeremy Ryman of Warsaw was the youth division winner, and Warsaw’s Matt Dick taking the adult division title. Both received gift cards to Nike for their shooting exploits.
The event, with the help of tournament sponsor Silveus Insurance Group, grossed $18,000 which went directly to CASA’s work advocating for children in Kosciusko County. CASA uses volunteer advocates to represent the best interest of youth entangled in the court system as a result of abuse and/or neglect or children caught in the middle of volatile custody disputes. CASA volunteers currently serve as the voice for over 100 children in our community.
