Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:57 p.m. Thursday, June 2, East CR 1200N west of North Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Ethel L. Kulp, 52, West Huyard Road, New Holland, Pa., and Cameron M. Tranter, 26, North CR 925E, Pierceton. Kulp missed her turn and began backing her vehicle, when the pontoon trailer she was pulling collided with Tranter’s vehicle, which had stopped. Damage up to $5,000.
5:35 p.m. Thursday, June 2, North SR 13 and East CR 500N, North Webster. Drivers: Daniel P. Allen, 19, North Eastshore Drive, Syracuse, and Janice L. Campbell, 64, East Forest Glen Avenue, Leesburg. Allen looked down at his cell phone and his vehicle rear-ended Campbell’s. Campbell complained of head and neck pain but declined medical treatment. Damage up to $5,000.
12:29 p.m. Thursday, June 2, North Greenwood Drive north of West River Chase Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Annette L. Eberly, 43, West CR 450N, Columbia City. Eberly’s mail truck hit a pedestrian, Addalynn M. Timmons, 3, Warsaw. Timmons was transported to Parkview Hospital, Warsaw, with road rash and a “goose egg” on her head. Damage under $750.
10:29 a.m. Thursday, June 2, US 30 and East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Angela R. Condon, 53, Boulevard Street, Rochester, and Christi K. Smith, 36, West Knapp Lake Road, Kimmell. Knapp’s vehicle slowed in traffic and Condon’s vehicle rear-ended it. Damage under $750.
6:54 a.m. Thursday, June 2, South SR 13 south of East CR 400S, Pierceton. Driver: Joseph A. Harness, 17, East Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Harness fell asleep while driving and his vehicle went into a ditch. Damage up to $1,000.
8:58 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, North CR 850E south of East CR 300N, North Webster. Driver: Joe L. Sanchez, 46, North CR 850E, Pierceton. Sanchez’s vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole. Sanchez was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaints of pain to his entire body. A passenger in Sanchez’s vehicle, Thomas Ankron, 8, was also transported with pain and an abrasion to his neck. Damage up to $10,000.
5:43 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, West US 30 west of North CR 200W, Warsaw. Drivers: David J. Orender, 25, Diamond Court, Plymouth, and Jessica R. Tilbury, 31, Dora Lane, Plymouth. Orender’s vehicle rear-ended Tilbury’s in a construction zone. Damage up to $10,000.
1:01 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, CR 200S and South SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Jena A. Kammerer, 19, North CR 950E, North Webster, and Michael D. Reinholt, 26, East CR 75N, Warsaw. Kammerer’s vehicle rear-ended Reinholt’s. Damage up to $10,000.
4:17 p.m. Monday, May 30, West CR 1350N and North CR 400W, Nappanee. Drivers: Brandon J. Smith, 23, Cotttage Court, Elkhart, and Robert D. Hall, 62, Currant Road, Granger. Smith turned his vehicle into the path of Hall’s oncoming vehicle and they collided. Smith was treated for complaints of chest pain. Hall was treated for contusions to his leg. A passenger in Smith’s vehicle, Jenni Sigerich, 25, Cottage Court, Elkhart, suffered neck abrasions. A passenger in Hall’s vehicle, Robin Hall, 58, Currant Road, Granger, had contusions to the neck. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw police Department investigated the following accident:
8:36 p.m. Thursday, June 2, North Detroit Street and Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kevin A. Cockburn, 23, Homewood Avenue, Mishawaka, and Deborah K. Ruch, 61, North Park Avenue, Warsaw. Cockburn attempted to make a U-turn and his vehicle collided with Ruch’s. Ruch complained of abrasions to her knees but declined medical treatment. Damage up to $1,000.
2:21 p.m. Thursday, June 2, North Detroit Street south of Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Julie D. Swingle, 42, North CR 925E, North Webster, Thomas A. Derossett, 34, Donna Street, Leesburg, and Kathy J. Landis, 57, North Old Port Road, Warsaw. Traffic had stopped and Swingle’s vehicle rear-ended Derossett’s, pushing it forward into Landis’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
10:34 a.m. Thursday, June 2, Argonne Road and East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Karla K. Hoskins, 68, South Jefferson Street, Silver Lake, and Ronald F. Johnston, 60, North CR 100E, Warsaw. At the red light, Hoskins’s vehicle rear-ended Johnston’s. Damage up to $1,000.
10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2, Lake City Highway and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Caleb R. Silcott, 19, Third Avenue Southwest, Altoona, Iowa, and Maria D. Garcia, 41, East Clark Street, Warsaw. Garcia’s vehicle was stopped at the intersection and Silcott’s vehicle rear-ended it. Garcia was not transported but later went to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaints of dizziness. Damage up to $2,500.
10:03 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 315 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. An unknown vehicle hit a parked car belonging to Cary R. Sloan, North CR 700W, Warsaw, and drove off. Damage up to $2,500.
2:10 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, Fisher Avenue and South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dillon J. Petty, 28, Danube Way, Indianapolis, and Khanh H. Rooney, 42, Trailsend Court, Warsaw. Rooney’s vehicle slowed to turn and Petty’s vehicle rear-ended it. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, Argonne road north of East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Kaitlyn M. Kubley, 26, Rozella Road, Warsaw, and Emily V. Bishop, 68, North CR 250W, Milford. Kubley became distracted and her vehicle rear-ended Bishop’s. Damage up to $2,500.
