WARSAW — Warsaw Noon Toastmasters inducted eight new members since the beginning of 2016, raising their member list to a total of twenty-two members. This was an important occasion, both for the new members and for the club.
Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills. The members of the Warsaw Noon Toastmasters Club meet Thursdays at noon at DePuy. They pledge to support each other in their quest for self-development, to provide positive, helpful evaluations, to maintain a friendly, supportive atmosphere, to give opportunities to help others and to make the Toastmasters membership a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
New members include: Meghna Dhawan, Anushri Gokhale, Melisa Kleber, Iember Hemben, Ann Sullivan, Jim Dent, Jake Snyder and Joshua Ringer. The club also approved the 2016-2017 new leadership team: Ethan Leitch, President, Jake Snyder, VP of Education, Michelle Weidenbenner, VP of Public Relations and Lember Hemben, Sergeant at Arms.
The Warsaw Noon Toastmasters will also be holding an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the City Council Chamber in The City Hall Building, 102 South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. The public is invited to attend.
Max Sherman, author, professor and consultant, will be giving the keynote speech, “A Few of My Favorite Things.” He launched the Warsaw Noon Toastmaster’s group eighteen years ago. Michelle Weidenbenner, award-winning author and speaker, will present, Strategies for The Fearless. She is also a John Maxwell certified, speaker, train and coach and has been a Toastmaster for over a year.
