Syracuse Loses Two Officers
Syracuse Police Department has lost two of its officers within the last week.
Neil Likens, a former reserve officer, has been added to the department on a full-time basis to fill one of the voids. One position still remains open following the resignation of two officers.
Justin “Tug” Curtis, who has been with the department almost seven years, left last week after being hired by Warsaw Police Department. Syracuse Police Chief Tony Ciriello stated Curtis left to join a department which offered an officer pension program, which Syracuse does not have.
The resignation of Ben Hostetler was effective on Monday. His resignation was due to personal reasons. Hostetler, who was a reserve officer for a number of years and reportedly left a well paying full-time job to become an officer in January.
