UPDATE: Three-Vehicle Accident On SR 15 and CR 350N
WARSAW — Two people were taken to the hospital following a three-vehicle accident.
At approximately 12:44 p.m. Saturday, June 11, Randy E. Scheffer Jr., 39, South Locke Street, Nappanee, was southbound in a green 1999 Plymouth. Scheffer told police his dog had jumped into his lap, causing a moment of distraction, and he did not notice he was coming up on a red stoplight.
Scheffer’s vehicle rear-ended a red 2007 Chevrolet, driven by Keith L. Lowe, 52, North Runkle Drive, Warsaw, which was stopped for the red light. The impact pushed Lowe’s vehicle forward, causing it to collide with a 2015 GMC driven by Tony L. Holland, 49, Walnut Street, Frankton.
Holland and a passenger, Anastacia L. Holland, 52, East Walnut Street, Frankton, complained of pain but declined EMS treatment. A passenger in Lowe’s vehicle was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaints of head pain.
Scheffer was issued a citation for driving while suspended. Damage is estimated up to $5,000.
