Elida L. Castellanos
Elida L. Castellanos, 89, Warsaw, passed away at 4:32 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
On Oct. 22, 1926, she was born in Taft, Texas to Elijio and Maria (Aguirre) Lopez. She was united in marriage to Manuel Castellanos on March 15, 1943 in Edinburg, Texas, who preceded her in death in 1999.
Elida worked for Crystal Egg Products for fifteen years. She was a great cook and loved cooking for her family and friends, especially apple pies. She loved everyone and always had a smile. She was a incredibly hard worker who used the snow blower and did her own mowing until she was 87.
She is survived by four children: Sue Castellanos, Warsaw; Amelia Lopez, Warsaw; Dave Castellanos, Fort Wayne; and Joe (and spouse Donna) Castellanos, El Paso, Texas. She loved her six grandchildren: Leo Jr., Lorenzo, Shawn, Joey, Rachel and Noel. She loved and cherished her four great grandchildren: Caleb, Isabella, Zeke and Dale.
Elida was also preceded in death by three children.
A Funeral of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 17, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Visitation hours will be from 5–8 p.m. Thursday, June 16, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
