Margaret “Peg” Rood
Margaret “Peg” Rood, 98, Pierceton, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday June 15, 2016, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 4, 1917 in Wilmot to Watson and Gustava (Drake) Beezley. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Rood on May 7, 1943, who preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of Pierceton United Methodist Church and was a beautician by trade, for over sixty years. She was the proud owner of Peg’s Beauty Shop.
Peg is survived by her children: Douglas (spouse Eva) Rood, Fort Wayne; Kathleen (spouse Sam) Smith, Geneva, Ill.; and Lise (spouse Chuck) Collier, Pierceton; her sister: Donna Kline, Syracuse; five grandchildren: Chad Collier, Andrew Rood, Travis Rood, Connor Smith, Hannah-Li Smith; and five great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son Chris; her mother and father; three brothers: Bernard, Thad and Jack Beezley; and two sisters: Gwendolyn Dietrich and Maxine Blake.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton with Pastor Holly White officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Wilmot.
Visitation hours will be from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Friday, June 17, in the Pierceton Funeral Chapel.
